ideaX

In 2016, KCLS launched a brand new program aimed at getting kids excited about careers in science and tech. ideaX is a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program that teaches a range of skills and technologies across a number of topics including electronics, robotics, 3D printing, digital media, game design, and music production.

ideaX is just getting started! After an expansion last year to include mobile and in-library programs, KCLS is currently building a dedicated ideaX space at the Bellevue library set to open in 2018. Plans for another ideaX space in the south end are in the works too, to be completed by 2020.

The KCLS Foundation has pledged to grant $2.1 million for ideaX over the next three years, the largest single-project grant ever from the Foundation. You can support this ambitious and innovative project by attending an ideaX event, making a donation in support of ideaX, and spreading the word to family and friends.
